Equality Wiregrass is pleased to announce we will be collaborating with Research Initiative on Social Justice and Equity (RISE). RISE is a national interdisciplinary research team and community committed to critical inquiry regarding systemic inequalities. The RISE research team is particularly focused on issues of race/ethnicity, social class difference, gender and sexual identity, public health, disability issues, and the intersection among these factors. Later this summer, Equality Wiregrass will be hosting a training seminar led by Dr. Kamden Strunk, Ph.D. of Auburn University in the Wiregrass area. Alabama High Schools; Decades Behind

36 years ago the Courts ruled in Fricke v. Lynch, that students must be allowed to go to prom with the date of their choice, regardless of sex.
