Thousands Pour Into Hong Kong Streets Demanding Equality

Thousands poured into the streets of Hong Kong Saturday to take part in the annual Hong Kong Pride parade. The celebration organizers cited 6,800 participants, all of whom demand greater acceptance, inclusion, more rights, and an end to discrimination. Among the 6,800 were city lawmakers who said they will raise the topic of equal rights in parliament, at least opening a discussion leading to the end of Hong Kong’s draconian laws carrying a maximum sentence of life for homosexuality.
